Last week's blog post described my research so today's post is about the re-inventing. Here's my first prototype Buddha Hand - made off mandrel. Instead of a bead hole, it has a glass loop.
A first try is never perfect so I'll make a few more before I'll sell any. But I like it.
Do you think I'm on the right path with it?

Astonishingly wonderful! For a first try you hit a home run, Cindy.
Wonderful work on the fingers making the gesture, Cindy! It can't be easy to make the fingers so smooth and separate. Very nice! I like the loop placement, too-- should make a pendant hang very nicely.
Thanks, Lynn! There's just something about the hand as a symbol for good, huh? I'm definitely working to perfect this design :-)

Hi Angela,
Thanks muchy! Right about the fingers - you've got to make them long enough to make the "sign" yet keep it all in relative proportion. Always checking that out but not too much so the glass doesn't get too cold and crack (knocking wood it doesn't happen!)

You are on the right path.
It's fantastic! The fingers are absolutely perfect - and I love how they're a different color from the palm, since that makes the gesture stand out more. You've definitely outdone yourself, I think, because this is a fabulous first attempt. The gesture is SO accurate, too!
I'm definitely wow-ed. (:
