Crocheting with wire isn't easy. I've tried several times with no success. I'm not discouraged though. My desire to try again is renewed after seeing how crocheted wire is interpreted into a statement necklace.
If you're an experineced crocheter and want to explore statement necklaces or innovative designs, you might want to check out this book I'm eyeing right now.

Do you crochet? If you do, have you tried wire?

I have tried crocheted wire. I was very frustrated and just gave up. So I am a bit in awe of the beauty that people able to acheive.
Yes I crochet. Just finished some brightly colored, summery, placemats. And yesterday I found a tutorial online to crochet an ethereal-looking necklace using single crochet & pearls. Haven't tried it yet. Thank you for the info on the book! Going to check it out now.
That bib necklace is wonderful!
I do crochet and I have tried really thin gauge wire and that's not too bad. It was a bit hard on the hands due to the pulling. I prefer using fine crochet cotton but then stringing the beads on it is a pain. I only work with those materials when I am feeling extremely patient!
I bought a book, crochet hooks and small gauge wire and some day soon I hope to attempt it!! I love the textured look of how things come out. I will let you know how my first piece comes out. Love the bib!
WOW, that looks like it took a ton of work!
I know how to crochet, but I've never tried to crochet wire because I just KNOW it would get hurled across the room.
