Frit Experiments

Remember Val's Frit Book I reviewed? How I was re-energized to work with my stash of frit? I've taken the frit out and tried again.

I still need more practice but I'm finding my fritsonality - I like to swirl the frit. Swirling frit is good.

Not yet frit-tastic like my frit-ero, Val, but I'm working on it. My goal is Lickalicious beads!

Swirling looks great. What pretty photos too! Guess I might need that book to bring out my inner frit. I have it but don't use it much.

WOWEE! zowwee! Those are some gorgeous beads!

Are you SURE I can't fritter in my kiln firing ... man, I love that look. LOL Don't tempt me to the torch side, Cindy!

Isn't that a great book? I thought I knew frit, but I sure am learning a lot more about it.

Hi Marcy,

Val's book is definitely worth the price - her photographs are lovely too! Val is the Zen-Frit-Master and if you need a frit guru, she's it! :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Lynn,

Pink is a great show off color isn't it? Today's post is just for you and fusing with frit! :-)

Hi Mallory,

Yes, it is a great book! Has Val inspired you to do something different with frit or have you been working with it all along. I'm not sure yet if I'll become really good with it but the potential to make incredibly colored beads is too irresistible!

Ohhh, I'm inspired. Thanks for helping the torch terrified like me with answers for the kiln!

Hi Lynn,

I understand your "flame fobia" - I was afraid to have a torch for awhile and then when I first got it, I was afraid to light it! Frankly, I'm still a little afraid of it - especially since someone in the neighborhood exploded (literally) their house with a BBQ propane tank a few days ago - I think that's good, it keeps me checking the safety of my hook up!
So glad to be of help!
