I made a trip to the flea market early Sunday morning. I make one or two trips per season to see if
I can find vintage pieces to combine with
the metal work I'm doing. I was on a mission to find watch parts. I can use them in all sorts of ways but I'm becoming particularly fond of the backs as ready-made bezels. I could pour resin in them or drill a hole and attach a jump ring.
Do you have a favorite "found object" for your craft or jewelry?

What a fabulous find Cindy! After reading what you do with them - I'm going to look at the watch backs in a whole new way! :o)
I don't have a favorite, but I do love rescuing found objects :) If nothing else, they send my brain scurrying around from idea to idea. For instance, those watch faces need someone to fill them with tiny bits of jewelry-worthy "confetti" of some sort. I have no idea what I'd do once I figured that part out, but it sure is fun to think about the possibilities!
I have a whole stash of watch parts...I don't have a lot of backs but I bought those before I started messing around with resin. Great score! I have a HUGE collection of skeleton keys (and that is my logo) and I love old hardware and coins and really anything that resembles a bead or a link! I have been known to walk with my head down and pick up all sorts of fascinating things like small sections of rusty pipe, and rusty split rings and lately a lot of feather....thanks for the inspiration! Enjoy the day! Erin
Hi Cindy,
I kill watches -- the real fancy wind-up watches last about an hour on me -- must be my magnetic personality ;^). I have about a half dozen quartz watches (which last a year and a half then stop forever) lying around the house. I should bring them together in one place and experiment with the resin thing. Thanks for the great post!

Oh now that was a SWEET find!
Great finds, Cindy! I'll bet you had fun hunting for these treasures!
I have taken to raiding my own OLD stash of bits and pieces, and have taken things apart to create my own bezels! I looked for waitch pieces at the flea market but I thought they were too expensive. I just tried two for the first time, one I am going to post soon, it came out well, the other is not done yet! I also collected some bottle caps to try!
Great find Cindy! It's amazing all of the unique and interesting things you can find at your local flea market. These would make excellent bezels. We do carry a product called "Ice Resin" that would work great for your project. Check it out!
