Copper Kisses for $4.00
It's the second installment of the Rings & Things goodie bag. Today it's my favorite - the antique copper plated bracelet. Here are the stats on it from the Rings & Things website:
Stock#: 40-337-7
7.2" disk-and-loop bracelet forms for gluing. Hammered oval loops.
1-11 cost $4.00
Today's "Copper Kisses" grew out of my new work with metal, glass and cold connections which is inspired by one of my favorite books.
I made the pads more bead like by doming them. I removed the pads and textured the surface by hammering a stamp several times. I created domed links between the ovals using a ball peen hammer and a doming block. The domed links were then re-attached.
It took about an hour to do each of the pads. The cost to make this is $4.00 assuming you have to tools to do it already.

Hi Cindy,
I really like how you transformed that bracelet blank. Looks so cool. You are so creative.
Hi Mary,
Thanks! I love the look of the antiqued copper and the texture of the links. The hand hammered "kisses" enhance the overall texture of the bracelet.
It was a fun project - hammering is good for the soul! :-)

Hi Cindy, you've really personalized the bracelet blank - - and without having to add much in the way of materials. Awesome idea!

Cindy, you are so clever! Neat idea, as always!
Thanks, Dave!
I took the "glueables" idea and used it as a challenge not to glue. It forced me out of the box and it's fun out here!

Hi Lynn!
Thank you! That's high praise coming from someone as creative as you! :-)
Cindy
now THAT is a great idea! Talk about jewelry-making outside the box!
I like how it echoes some of the Art Deco jewelry (the "star/cross" stamp, the antiqued copper, the open links). Really gives it a flavor of times past.
Gorgeous, this one takes the cake. Very industrious of you to disassemble to modify the pieces. COOL!
Hi Barbara,
Thank you! I love the antiqued copper - the doming and stamping worked very well with it.
Thanks for commenting!

Hi Lisa,
I DIY'd it! :-) I love the look of the domed pads. Hammering is such a great way to release any tension - plus I made something really cool while doing it! I recommend it to everyone!
