When I'm out doing a show, oftentimes, customers pick up one of my art beads and says,
"This is pretty, what do you do with it?"
So I've taken that as a challenge to items to my website that will complement my handmade beads. Here are the new items I've added recently to help customers figure out what to do with the beads.
When you're designing with a natural feeling pendant like the Lotus Pod,
you pair it with other natural beads like these chunky red bamboo coral beads:
What to do with the Red Lotus Pods? Vintaj chain and jump rings complement the brown tone of the patina on the red lotus pod.
Do you have ideas about items I should add to my site? What do you think would look good with my handmade art beads?

this is a good idea to market your lovely beads.. a photo collage of designs using your pieces in your booth might also help customers "see" how great those art beads look worked into actual jewelry.
Brilliant idea Cindy! I think that sometimes people can't see past the details to a finished piece. Showing options of what you have done sparks the imagination (love the pod necklace by the way!)
I love Vintaj with anything, but I also frequently mix metals with it... gold, silver, copper, bronze. I love them all. Layering materials is another trick that dresses up even the simplest component. And fibers, cord and ribbons are all the rage! What about sari silks with your pieces? The colors would complement well!
Enjoy the day!

love the lotus pod!
Thanks for the great suggestions! You know I worked with satin cording back in 2005/2006 and had a whole series of beads, silver, wire and knotted cording. Used ribbon I had hand dyed too. Taught two classes at Beadfest. I was ahead of the curve cuz it didn't really catch on. I'm reluctant to revisit it cuz I don't have anything original to say about it now.
Beautiful and a great idea. Making me want to buy some beads now!
I think you should definitely think about carrying different cords and ribbons...even if it doesn't feel totally fresh to you, it is certainly the easiest way for someone to display a gorgeous bead. Make it easy for people :-)
