Resolved: Experiment more with your Glass!

Happy New Year! This new year, why not make a resolution to experiment more with your art? I started early with the frit experiments I started in December.

I have a go to frit - it's Val Cox's Silverlake. No matter what I do, I can make this frit look good. If I'm getting frustrated with my other experiments, I roll some Silverlake with Czech Glass's Capri Blue and it just looks pretty!

Ocean Currents and Butterflies is my favorite Silverlake/Capri Blue creation. This is in a private collection - mine! :-)

Experiments can lead to new work - what are experimenting with in your art?

Hi Cindy,
I love to experiment too. Right now I am trying out some new colors. I too am very interested in metals and also in trying out some rivets.
You are always an inspiration to me be it beading or reading.

Cindy, I love the metalwork paired with your beads in Ocean Currents and Butterflies. Great bracelet! Hope your new year brings you lots of satisfaction in your experimenting and exploring-- the variety of skills you've learned and the resulting projects always leave me in awe!

Hi Mary,

Long time no comment! :-) Glad you took the time to stop by today! Thank you for the nice words. I'd love to see metals and rivets with your lovely ceramic beads. Make sure you come back and tell me about it when you do!

That is a very pretty combination Cindy. I like 'simple but effective' combinations - it always looks so elegant.
Another to go on my Frit Wish List, methinks.

I really do need to experiment more!
Thank for the reminder :o)

Hi Mallory,

Definitely try it - it's beautiful on black too.

Hi Deb,

Silverlake is my staple frit - if I had only one frit, it would be Silverlake. It really doesn't need you to do too much to it to look good. Try it, you'll like it!

We can get in ruts and the new year is a good time to remind ourselves to experiment to keep our creative juices flowing!
