Continuation...

Continuing to work on hands inspired by mudras, I really like the blue color in the palm and the gold/cream of the fingers. I thought I was using the same color for the hands and the fingers, a happy accident. But I guess I should label each glass rod, huh? Still love the color combo.

Have you had a happy accident lately?

Re-Inventing....

Last week's blog post described my research so today's post is about the re-inventing. Here's my first prototype Buddha Hand - made off mandrel. Instead of a bead hole, it has a glass loop.

A first try is never perfect so I'll make a few more before I'll sell any. But I like it.

Do you think I'm on the right path with it?

The Zen of Snow....

Snow storm is on the way and I'm feeling philosophical about not having finished Xmas shopping yet. Every year I wait until the freelance interpreting work falls off before I start shopping, I mean, I need to have $$ to be able to shop, right? This year, my phone is still ringing with offers of work. I finally had to schedule in time and now I'm wondering if I'll have enough time to do all the shopping I need to do.

I'm sure I'm not alone. How many of you are finding yourself in the same situation?

So. let's use this picture as a metaphor - quietly overwhelmed, the buddha is still able to remain calm. I've still got a week!
