What's in a Name?

Thanks, Dear Readers for all the comments on the last blog post's pictures. I'm in the process of changing my packaging and creating a new banner. I've got a black and white theme in mind so today's pictures show a bit of a backdrop I'm toying with.

But alas! I'm stuck yet again for a good name for the necklace. I used a bead chain to repeat the beads in the fine silver belt buckle charm I made. I darkened the chain a bit to echo the feel of the charm and suspended a blood red crystal from the end.

Right now my creative muse is on empty. I keep repeating, What's in a name? What's in a name? Thinking maybe it will bring and idea into my head or refill my creative muse's tank!

Any ideas? Oh, and what do you think of the black and white backdrop?

Let's put our heads together and see if something other than Shakespeare comes to mind....

This is my first post to your blog, Cindy. But I'm offering the title, "Another Twilight." The dark of the silver reminds me of the setting for the "Twilight" movie/book -- the town of Forks where it is dark and mysterious. The blood red stone needs no explanation!

"A Rose By Any Other Name"

...would still smell as sweet!

I like to turn to poetry and lyrics when I am stuck for a name. My recent blog post earlier this week showed four pieces I created. Their names all came from poems...that I found after the fact! I know that inspiration can work the other way, but a short Googling provided me these gems. "The Only Bird In Town" was a brilliant find...love Shel Silverstein!
Beautiful as ever.
Enjoy the day!

Hi Cindy,

I like the new b/w I backdrop! know what you are aying about the Muse abandoning you. She'll be back, I'm sure.

How about "Prized" for your new piece? It looks a tiny bit like the ribbon rosettes given for competitions. Also, it is reminiscent of a vintage piece to be called a "Prized" possession.

Have a great day,

Love the black and white background. It looks great with the necklace. As for names, I'm stumped, too. I keep picturing some kind of military medal or ribbon on a uniform or a scene from "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas (don't ask me why - my brain just works that way), but I'm not getting any words to go with the pictures.

Cindy the black and white motif is awesome. I like Secret Legend.
It the center of the charm looks like a scroll with a secret legend written on it.

I'll throw my two cents in here. And now that I'm writing it next to the other comments I see that it is very close to Michelle's but a bit different, How's about, the last drop of wine or 'Last Drop of Burgundy".
And I love your new backdrop, it makes me a bit weepy, only because I lost my darling Dalmatian not long ago but I've always loved the bold graphics of black and white and everything looks good with it!

Very beautiful piece! I keep thinking about a knight in armor spilling his own blog to save the lady he loves.

On an entirely different route, I think about the darker side like the vampires that are so popular now, or a drop of poisoned wine dripping from a secret lover's lips.

I've always love the classic black and white combo!
